lliance Ethnik are a multi culteral group based in France. They have members from Africa, France and Italy. The group started out in 1994, and their first single, "Simple Et Funky" was a hit in France, and made it's way into other pop charts in Europe.

By 1995, they had sold quite a few records, "Honesty Et Jalousy" was released and Simple Et Funky, the album was well under way. Bob Power helped them get the album together, and what it hit shop shelves it sold well.

The next two years were spent working on Fat Comeback, in that time they didn't release one single, which made us think they were not making new material. So you can imagine how glad we were to see Fat Comeback, an excellent album featuring some of the best artists from the US. Even De La Soul helped out on this project, and beat box master Biz Markie.

Singles like "No Limites" and the excellent "Jam" featuring Rahzel came out throughout 2000, making the band more multi-culteral than ever. "No Limites" did very well, as a lot of people enjoyed it's latin feel - but sadly, "Jam" didn't do as well in the charts.

In 2002, Alliance Ethnik decided to release "Best Of", a collection of all their greatest hits. This symbolised their demise, which was very sad for fans of them. Thankfully, K-Mel is continuing his career, but it's not the same without Alliance Ethnik alongside him.

Hopefuly, they'll prove they're not on their way out by releasing another album, fingers crossed. Hopefuly a fairwell tour will be announced if they do break up.
